SCHOOL SPONSORED ACTIVITIES

School-sponsored activities are not recorded as absences. Examples of (but not limited to):
SCHOOL RELATED ACTIVITIES are: Approved curriculum related trips; District, regional or state contest, meeting or games; scheduled assembles.

All school-sponsored activities must be approved by an administrator and presented to the teacher at least 5 days prior to the planned activity. The form should be signed in the following order:

1 Sponsor
2 Administrator
3. Parent
4. Teachers

All work is to be made up prior to the activity unless otherwise arranged with teachers. It is the responsibility of the student to insure that signed school sponsored activity slips are on file in the attendance office. It is mandatory that the sponsor take attendance prior to departure and send the list of actual participants to the attendance office. Graduating seniors may be excused from classes during final days of their last block to participate in graduation exercises, rehearsals, etc. Seniors excused by the principal for these reasons WILL NOT BE COUNTED ABSENT. They will have demonstrated course mastery by the fact that the have completed all graduation requirements.
